JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders (Japanese: ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 スターダストクルセイダース, Hepburn: JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken Sutādasuto Kuruseidāsu ) is the 2nd flavor of the JoJo's Baroque Gamble anime by David Production, based on the JoJo's Bizarre Hazard manga series past Hirohiko Araki. Information technology is the 2nd animated adaptation of the manga's third part, Stardust Crusaders, following an original video animation series by A.P.P.P. that was released first in 1993 and continued later in 2000.

This "Part" of the series is i of the most popular "Parts" of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The series aired for 48 episodes, split into 2 parts consisting of 24 episodes each.[1] The first function aired on Tokyo MX between April 5, 2014, and September 13, 2014, too syndicated on MBS, Animax, and other channels.[2] The 2nd part, subtitled "Battle in Egypt" ( エジプト編 , Ejiputo-hen , lit. "Egypt Chapter" or "Egypt Saga"), aired between January 10, 2015, and June xx, 2015.[3] [4] The series was simulcast outside of Asia on Crunchyroll's streaming services.[5] A preview of the English language dub of the beginning three episodes was streamed on Crunchyroll on July 5, 2014, tying in with its premiere at Anime Expo 2014.[half dozen] The English dub began airing in North America on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block from July 30, 2017.[7] Viz Media released a Blu-ray set of the first 24 episodes, that includes English and Japanese sound with subtitles for the Japanese, in North America on July three, 2018.[8]

Plot [edit]

In 1983, Dio, the vampiric enemy of Jonathan Joestar, emerges from the lesser of the Atlantic Ocean after stealing his archenemy'due south body.[9] Dio develops a manifestation of life energy known as a Stand, causing Jonathan'southward descendants Joseph Joestar, Holly Kujo, and Jotaro Kujo[nine] to also proceeds Stands in 1988. Holly, defective the strength to control her Stand up, falls ill and is estimated to have fifty days left to live. Jotaro, Joseph, and fellow Stand users Muhammad Avdol and Noriyaki Kakyoin travel from Japan to Egypt to find and kill Dio, which will free Holly from her Stand-induced affliction.[10] The grouping is later joined past Jean Pierre Polnareff, a former assassinator of Dio'southward who seeks revenge on his sister's killer,[eleven] and a Stand user dog named Iggy.[12] Aided by Kakyoin, who reveals the nature of Dio's fourth dimension-stopping Stand The World in his last moments,[thirteen] Jotaro kills Dio in Egypt, assuasive Holly to recover.[14]

Although teased at in the postal service-credit scenes of the first flavor's finale, the second season of the JoJo anime was officially announced in October 2013 in the November 2013 issue of Ultra Jump and the fifth tankōbon volume of JoJolion.[17] [xviii] David Production revealed that as with the different art styles they used for the first flavor, which covered the Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency arcs, they would exist attempting a new art way with the Stardust Crusaders season.[19] Takehito Koyasu reprises his role as Dio from the previous season and Daisuke Ono reprises his role every bit Jotaro Kujo from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle video game, but all other characters were given new vocalisation actors.[two]

The opening theme for the kickoff half of the flavour is "Stand up Proud", performed by Jin Hashimoto, while the ending theme is American female pop stone band The Bangles' 1986 single "Walk Like an Egyptian".[a] The "Boxing in Egypt" half of the flavour has new theme music, with the opening theme changed to "JoJo Sono Chi no Kioku ~end of THE WORLD~" ( ジョジョ その血の記憶~end of THE WORLD~ , translated as "JoJo, That Blood's Memories ~End of the World~"), performed past the band "JO☆STARS ~TOMMY,Coda,JIN~" consisting of Hiroaki "Tommy" Tominaga, Coda, and Jin Hashimoto, each of whom had performed ane of the series' previous openings, while the ending theme was inverse to American jazz fusion band Pat Metheny Grouping'due south "Concluding Railroad train Home" from their 1987 album Nevertheless Life (Talking). However, episode 27 featured the unique catastrophe theme song and animation sequence for "Aku-yaku Kyōsōkyoku" ( アク役♢協奏曲 , "Evil Concerto"), performed by Makoto Yasumura and Motoko Kumai equally their characters Oingo and Boingo; a digital unmarried was released before long after broadcast.[twenty] This song was used once more in episodes 36 and 37, this time performed by Hidenobu Kiuchi with Motoko Kumai, as the characters Hol Horse and Boingo; a digital unmarried was released for this version of the song as well. The original score for the serial is composed by Yugo Kanno.
